Here are some tips for a daily programme with options for excursions, tours, ecoturism, parties, shows and a lot of fun for all tastes and pockets.
It’s the perfect combination between entertainment, culture and fun, impossible not to like it.
In the morning: we recommend visiting the National History Museum and the São Bento Monastery. In the afternoon: A Day Trip to visit de Christ Redeemer,, Santa Teresa, the Sambodrome and finish the afternoon with a Marvellous sunset at the Sugar Loaf. At night: Rio Boat Club, a party on a two-storey boat, with drinks, the best national and international music and the wonderful view to the Guanabara bay.
In the morning: Visit the Parque Nacional da Tijuca, to know the atlantic rainforest and right after that, have lunch in Santa Teresa, at Largo dos Guimarães, multicultural centre where you’ll find excellent restaurants. In the afternoon: The walk is extended throughout Santa Teresa neighbourhood with visits to the Parque das Ruínas Cultural Centre, the Chácara do Céu Museum and the Carioca arches. Enjoy the evening at 00, one of the trendiest nightclubs in the South of the city.
In the morning: rent a bike and visit the Botanical Gardens. There you’ll find a research centre with an important botanical library. In the neighbourhood there are the Parque Lage and the Jockey Clube. You’ll be fascinated as well with a spin Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. In the afternoon: a visit to the Bossa Nova’s house in Ipanema neighbourhood, going by Vinícius Bar, Garota de Ipanema and A Toca do Vinicius, with the best Bossa Nova collection. At night: the IN.BOX party offers 2 hours of free caipifrutas and caipirinha happy hour all night! Optional: Soccer at Maracanã or Engenhão stadiums.
Full Day! Visit Prainha, a beach much attended by surfers from Rio and the swell is good all year. At night: the return of the Boat Party! A party on board of a two-storey boat with happy hour, drinks, the best national and international music and the fantastic view to the Guanabara Bay. A program that can’t be missed!
In the morning we’ve got the Favela Tour to Rocinha slum, to submerge in the world of Carioca communities, riding a mototaxi and getting to know a bit more about the social projects developed there. A walk around Cinelândia in the afternoon it’s a good option, but not without having lunch at one of the Portuguese restaurants downtown. There you’ll get to see the Municipal Theatre, The Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Library that are all very close to one another. At night: the Lapa Loca party awaits at Bar da Boa with 2 hours of free caipirinhas and live samba with Bom Batuque band and DJ Ricardo Martins playing World Music on intervals.
After a night in Lapa, Saturday begins a bit later with a fantastic beach day. Take a chance to know Leme or even the trendy Ipanema beach. At night: If you still got energy left, one of the most famous samba schools in Rio opens its doors to the public to show the best of their band. It’s the Samba Beatz at Salgueiro!
Sunday is beach day by tradition in Rio de Janeiro: the tip is to enjoy the closed streets by Leme, Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon. If you’d like to by souvenirs for family and friends, there are several options such as the hippie market in Ipanema and the Rio Sul Shopping mall in Botafogo. Another interesting option is to take a Day Trip to Búzios or Angra dos Reis. At night: Option 1: Soccer at Maracanã or Engenhão Stadiums. Enjoy the best Carioca soccer. Option 2: Favela Funky Party at Castelo das Pedras. Imagine shaking and dancing to the rhythm of the popular Carioca funky until dawn!
