Payment of Accommodation

We require a 50% deposit to confirm and guarantee any reservation. The remaining balance must be paid at the check-in time. Please, bear in mind that all bookings are charged in Reals (local currency). In case money exchange is needed it will be applied the exchange rate upto date.

 

Booking cancellation policy

Deposits corresponding to bookings will not be refunded for cancellations with less than 72-hour notice prior to the check-in date and time. For cancellation requests which fall within the stipulated time will be charged an administrative fee of R$ 15. Any request for cancellation or modification must be submitted in writing. The El Misti Hostels will notify their receipt. Cancellation terms are applied as well to modifications. Cancellation policies vary for special events like Carnival, New Year’s, Rock in Rio, etc. Please confirm the conditions which apply to the period of your reservation responding this message.

Any no-shows will be charged 100% of the reservation total after 24 hours from the check-in time if no notification is received by El Misti Hostels.

We recommend hiring traveller’s insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may cause the cancellation of the booking. El Misti Hostels will gladly help you and provide the necessary documentation as proof of cancellation purpose.

Cancellations of groups of over 6 persons can be done only 30 days or more prior to the check-in date for the total payment made for the booking to be refunded. After that period, there won’t be any refund of such payment.

For reservations made with non-refundable cancellation policy will be charged 100% of the total value of the reservation. If any cancellation occurs no deposit will be returned.

For Rock in Rio Package 2017(15/09/2017 to 17/09/2017)(20/09/2017 to 24/09/2017) it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. Cancellations will only be processed 15 days prior check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show the hostel charges the full amount of balance.

For the New Year Package 2017/2018(27/12/2017 to 04/01/2018) it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. Cancellations will only be processed 30 days prior check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show the hostel charges the full amount of balance.

For Summer Season 2018(05/01/2018 to 06/02/2018) it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. Cancellations will only be processed 15 days prior check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show the hostel charges the full amount of balance.

For the Carnival Package 2018(07/02/2018 to 17/02/2018) it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. Cancellations will only be processed 30 days prior check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show the hostel charges the full amount of balance.

For the Easter Package 2018(28/03/2018 to 01/04/2018) it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. Cancellations will only be processed 15 days prior check-in date. After that time, no deposit refunds will be made. In the event of a no-show the hostel charges the full amount of balance.

For any other dates not included above have to be made 72hs before check-in, it is necessary to pay 50% of the value of the reservation, at the time booking is submitted. otherwise no reimbursement is performed.

 

Overbookings

For reservations guaranteed with a 50% deposit or more,rooms are held until set check-in time. In case more guests arrive than those who the hostel can accommodate due to hostel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, and the hostel is unable to hold rooms consistent with booking room hold policy, the guest will be entitled to the refund of the deposit made for the booking and the hostel will pay for the transport to another hostel of the same characteristics.

 

Improvements

In our strive to improve and upgrade our facilities to satisfy our guests, El Misti Hostel sometimes undergoes refurbishment work in some parts of the hostel. We do our best to ensure guests are not affected by the renovations but please be aware of the latter possibility.

 

Minors

Minors only allowed in private rooms.
